Pair choice: this or that, in pictures

Two images side by side, and the player keeps the one they like best. One pair after another, then a recap of their picks.

How it works

The Pair choice step puts two images side by side. The player taps the one they prefer and the next pair shows up right away. There is no right or wrong answer: every pick is recorded.

Choosing between two options is instant and fun. It's an easy way to gather preferences, start a conversation or get a team reacting to visuals. You put the pairs together in the editor, with your own images.

For the player

  1. 1The player sees two images face to face and a counter, such as "Pair 2 of 5".
  2. 2They tap their favorite, and the next pair appears.
  3. 3After the last pair, a recap shows every pair with their picks highlighted.

What you set

  • The images, added in order: images 1 and 2 make the first pair, 3 and 4 the second, and so on.
  • The image order, which you change by drag and drop to rebuild the pairs.
  • The title and instructions, "Choose the image you prefer" by default.
  • By default, the step gives no points: it's there to capture a preference.

Ideas for using it

  • Pick a visual

Let teams settle between two poster ideas for an internal campaign.

  • Offsite icebreaker

Kick off the day with light image duels: mountains or beach, coffee or tea.

  • Company culture

Which picture best shows how we work? The picks get the workshop talking.

  • Sustainability habits

Compare two commutes, two packages or two habits, and open the debate on what matters.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a "this or that" visual poll?

Add a Pair choice step in the Ludiz editor and upload your images in order: they are paired two by two. The player picks one in each pair.

Is there a right answer?

No. The step records the player's preferences without grading them. To check knowledge, use a multiple choice or true or false step instead.

Can I compare text instead of images?

Pairs are made of images. Put the question in the step's title or instructions to give context.
