Game mechanicsTimeline
The markers sit on the timeline and the events are shuffled. Players move each card under the right marker.
Describe your game: the assistant builds it, you fine-tune it.
How it works
A timeline shows a row of markers: dates, eras, project phases or the steps of a process. Players have to place the right card under each one.
Putting facts back in time helps people see cause and effect and remember a story rather than a list. The AI assistant can build this step from a description, with the markers and cards already written.
For the player
- 1Players see the timeline with its markers in order and one shuffled card under each. It runs horizontally on a wide screen and switches to vertical on a phone.
- 2They drag cards to swap places until each one sits under the right marker. With a keyboard, the arrow keys move the selected card.
- 3They submit. Each card shows as placed right or wrong, and players can fix their answers if they have tries left.
What you set
- Add your events. For each one, write the marker shown on the timeline (a date, a period, a phase) and the card players will move.
- Optionally attach an image or audio to the marker and to the card, and pick the image format.
- Set the correct position of each event, or just reorder the list by drag and drop.
- Set tries, points, the timer, hints, and whether the correct answer appears after a miss.

Frequently asked questions
How do I make an interactive timeline?
Add a Timeline step in the Ludiz editor, then add your events with their marker and card. Players use it in a browser or on a phone, with nothing to install.
Do the markers have to be dates?
No. A marker is free text: a year, an era, a project phase or a step. It can also carry an image or audio.
How is it different from a sorting game?
Scoring works the same way, but the timeline keeps the markers fixed and the cards go underneath. It reads better when the order is about time.
