Game mechanicsSlider
Players move two handles to mark a range: a low end and a high end.
Describe your game: the assistant builds it, you fine-tune it.
How it works
The slider is for questions whose answer is an interval: a temperature range, a price band, working hours, a tolerance. Players set a low handle and a high handle on the scale.
Many workplace rules are thresholds rather than single numbers. Placing them on a scale helps people picture the allowed zone and where it ends. The AI assistant can build this step from a description.
For the player
- 1Players see both values in large type with their unit, above a scale.
- 2They drag the low and high handles, or fine-tune each one with its minus and plus buttons. One handle can't pass the other.
- 3They submit. Each end shows as right or wrong, and players can fix it if they have tries left.
What you set
- Set the scale: minimum, maximum, step size and the unit shown.
- Set the window in which the low end is accepted, then the window for the high end.
- Enter the exact values to show when the solution is revealed.
- Set tries, points, the timer, hints and your own success and failure messages.
Ideas for using it
Cold chain
Between which temperatures should a fresh product or a vaccine be stored?
Quality tolerances
Have operators place the acceptable range for a dimension, weight or pressure.
Working time
Shift hours, break length, maximum workday: help people recall the rules that apply.
Expense policy
What's the allowed budget range for a client dinner or a hotel night?
Frequently asked questions
How do I ask a question whose answer is a range?
Add a Slider step in the Ludiz editor, set the scale, then the accepted window for the low end and for the high end.
Do players have to hit the exact values?
Not unless you want them to. Each end is correct if it falls inside the window you set for it.
How is it different from the knob?
The knob asks for a single value. The slider asks for two ends, so the answer is a range.
