Game mechanicsSort game, everything in its place
A shuffled list, an order to rebuild. The player drags each line into place, then submits.
Describe your game: the assistant builds it, you fine-tune it.
How it works
Knowing the steps of a procedure isn't enough, you have to know the order they go in. A sort game makes players picture the whole sequence, not just spot a right answer.
After they submit, every line in the wrong spot is flagged. Players see exactly where they went wrong and can fix it if they have tries left. That precise feedback is what makes the sequence stick.
For the player
- 1The player sees a list of items in a scrambled order.
- 2They drag each line up or down. On a keyboard, the arrow keys move the selected item.
- 3They submit: lines in the right spot turn green, the others red.
What you set
- Enter your items, one line of text each.
- Give each item its correct position. The order you type them in is the player's starting order, and a list typed already in order gets shuffled automatically.
- Optionally add an image, a video or an audio clip for context.
- Set the tries, the points for each try and the timer, 30 seconds by default.
- Add hints and your own success, try-again and fail messages.

Frequently asked questions
How do I create a sorting game?
Add a Sort step in the Ludiz editor, type your items and set the correct position for each. The AI assistant can also create the step from a description of your process.
Can the items be images?
In this step, every item is text. To place illustrated events on an axis, the timeline step is built for that.
Does the player need the whole order right to pass?
Yes, the step is passed when the full order is correct. Lines in the right spot are marked green, which helps players fix the rest on the next try.
