Swipe cards, sorting with a flick

One card at a time, two possible sides. Players swipe it left or right and find out right away if they called it.

Describe your game: the assistant builds it, you fine-tune it.

How it works

Everyone already knows the gesture from the apps on their phone: swipe the card one way or the other. There is nothing to explain, and cards come quickly, which keeps a long series of decisions moving.

Every card tells the player right away whether the call was right. They learn as they go through the deck, and at the end they see every card laid out in two columns, with their mistakes easy to spot.

For the player

  1. 1A card appears with text, an image or both, plus a counter that shows how far along the deck is.
  2. 2The player swipes it left or right, or taps the button on that side. On a keyboard, the left and right arrow keys do the same.
  3. 3The card flies off in green or red. After the last one, the step submits itself and shows the sorted deck in two columns.

What you set

  • Name the two sides: False on the left and True on the right by default, or any other pair, like Keep and Toss.
  • Add your cards as text, images or both, and mark which ones belong on the right.
  • Optionally place an image, a video or an audio clip next to the deck.
  • Set the tries, the points and the timer, 30 seconds by default.
  • Add hints and write your own success and fail messages.

Ideas for using it

  • Compliance

A supplier offers a gift: for each case, decide whether to accept or decline it.

  • Waste sorting

Send each office item to Recyclable or Not recyclable.

  • Cybersecurity

Show links and attachments and have players sort what is safe from what is suspicious.

  • Company values

Show everyday behaviors and ask whether each one reflects your values.

Frequently asked questions

How do I create a swipe cards game?

In the Ludiz editor, add a Swipe cards step, name the two sides, then type your cards and mark the right side for each. The AI assistant can also build the step from a short description of your topic.

How is it different from true or false?

True or false shows every statement at once and is submitted in one go. Swipe cards come one at a time with instant feedback on each, which makes for a faster-paced game, especially on a phone.

Do players need a touchscreen?

No. On a computer, players can drag the card with the mouse, click the button on either side, or use the arrow keys.
